Global jewellery and watch brand Thomas Sabo announces the re-opening of its stand-alone boutique in Bluewater. The boutique opening will be celebrated with a Karma Bead themed private event (see Fashion Insight Events) and special offers for all customers on the day. The new shop will reflect major themes from the brand’s Sterling Silver Collection while showcasing all product lines from THOMAS SABO: From the sophisticated jewellery collections Glam & Soul and Rebel at Heart, including the launched jewellery line Karma Beads, to the versatile Charm Club, Watches and Beauty range. The global brand ambassadors for Thomas Sabo are British style icon Georgia May Jagger and German-Finnish F1 race driver Nico Rosberg. The Bluewater boutique will also be one of only two UK stores to retail Thomas Sabo’s new limited edition premium jewellery line Karma Beads Selected Pieces, exclusively created by Chairman Thomas Sabo and Creative Director Susanne Kölbli.
As part of the Make Love Not War campaign, Lynx has teamed up with five emerging designers to create a limited edition range of Peace inspired t-shirts. The designers, Steve Wilson, Mat Pringle, McBess, Ruby Taylor and creative group Bread Collective were chosen by Lynx for their individual artistic flair. The Lynx Make Love Not War campaign encourages fans to embrace peace in every aspect of their lives. The Lynx campaign centres around three key passion points: Make Beats Not War, Make Threads Not War and Make Moments Not War. The Make Threads Not War collection will be sold exclusively on ASOS to show support for global organisation Peace One Day, which is marked on September 21 each year. The t-shirts are available from May 6 priced at £10. Spanish casual shoe brand VICTORIA announces the launch of a pop-up store at BOXPARK to coincide with the launch of its spring / summer collection. Established in 1915, the VICTORIA shop at BOXPARK will offer a conceptual storefront where visitors can discover special editions, events as well as purchase the collection. The pop-up opens from May onwards.
The V&A announces that it will present Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in London in spring 2015. The first and largest retrospective of the late designer’s work to be presented in Europe, the exhibition will showcase McQueen’s visionary body of work. Spanning his 1992 MA graduate collection to his unfinished autumn / winter 2010 collection, McQueen’s designs will be presented with the dramatic staging and sense of spectacle synonymous with his runway shows. The original version of Savage Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 2011 was organised by the Costume Institute and became one of the Museum’s top 10 most visited exhibitions.
British brand Zatchels announces the opening of its York boutique store today. The Zatchels store will carry the brand’s range of handcrafted leather bags and accessories for women, men, and children. This also marks the first opportunity to see Zatchels new branding, which will be rolled out across all areas of the business between now and August 1. The new branding features a bold fox motif that celebrates the company’s manufacturing base and heritage in Leicestershire.
Summer has sees the launch of the second fashion accessory collaboration from designer Giles Deacon in partnership with label.m The collaboration marks the seventh creative partnership and the 12th season working with Giles backstage as the Official Professional Haircare product at London Fashion Week. Working closely with label.m’s Global Creative Director, Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, Giles has created the first pair of designer sunglasses for label.m clients, paying homage to his spring / summer collection. The shades have been designed in a warm tortoiseshell brown with an accent of pastel pink, as seen in the Giles spring / summer collection, presented in a PVC pouch carrying the Giles ‘the gap’ pout print. The limited edition Giles designs for label.m sunglasses are available exclusively during summer as a complementary GWP, when any two or more label.m products are purchased, whilst stocks last.
International footballer Didier Drogba has released the first campaign image from his new collection Drogba & Co designed in collaboration with HOM. The 16-piece collection of underwear and swimwear has been designed by Didier Drogba and Côte d’Ivoire couturier Elie Kuame. Additionally, HOM have today unveiled a microsite dedicated to Didier’s first collection. The site links fans to HOM’s e-commerce page in order to pre-purchase products from Drogba & Co prior to its global in-store launch on May 1. Didier Drogba says of the partnership with HOM: “By producing my own line of underwear I’m able to achieve two goals; to design a fashionable men’s underwear range, and to create a product that will directly support my charitable foundation – to aid in healthcare and education in the Ivory Coast.”
